No one can ignore the fact that abnormal big breasts could cause a lot of problems , both physical ( neck and back pain , humpback , skin irritation and discomfort ) , and psychological ( embarrassment and shyness which may even prevent the patient form going outdoors ) . We experienced these situations with many patients suffering from this condition .

Breast reduction is usually carried out after puberty when the body’s growth has stabilized , particularly the breasts . Nevertheless , the operation could be performed earlier if the previously mentioned problems were unbearable .

The process of treatment is long and demands full planning from the very
beginning . The surgical operation in itself may cause some complications as any other surgical procedure, except that the patient could loose her lactation’s
capability after the operation , and taking into account that the patient may not be able to lactate even before the operation due to the fact that her breast tissue is majorly made up of unphysiologic fatty tissue . In addition , there may be transient increase or decrease in nipple sensations

after the operation , which soon resolves .

After the operation , the physical improvement is evident and the patient feels normal again .
